A walk among ancient walls, medieval castles and the famous paths of the Via Francigena in the Sienese area, together with your tour guide
This tour is fascinating and full of history. You will have the opportunity to get to know directly some of the most venerable buildings, villages and routes in the Sienese area, closely connected to the Via Francigena that passed through here.
You will thus be able to walk the same stretches as the pilgrims: there are still many pilgrims today who can be met along the way or in the numerous hostels present.
Some of the stages that await you, depending on the itinerary that your competent tour guide will draw up for you, include passages from Colle Val d'Elsa and the River Elsa River Park, the abbey of Abbadia Isola, Pian del Lago, Strove and of course the small fortified village of Monteriggioni. This was a Sienese military outpost dating back to 1200 and even mentioned by the illustrious Dante Alighieri in the Divina Commedia.
The glimpses of nature, art and history, within your reach today, are truly wonderful.
The lunch that awaits you today is really mouth-watering: you can choose some genuine Tuscan dishes with carefully selected ingredients, so you can feel fully immersed in the spirit of a day of adventure in our countryside.
You will have an English speaking tour guide with you for the entire duration of the tour. Our driver with recent and comfortable Mercedes minivan – 7 or 8 passengers plus driver – will arrange the transfer services you will need to drop you off and pick you up.
All of our tours are private.
The tour can be customized according to your particular needs and desires.
